Quick and Easy LTO License Renewal

I didn't think it was possible to renew my license in less than an hour. I know you all know what I mean but it is possible with LTO's Online Appointment System. Still not convinced? I tried it so let me tell you how.

First, set your appointment online. Make sure that you have your driver's license because you will be needing some details from it. Start with reading their Terms of Use then continue. The pictures below are in order.

Double check all the information you enter before you proceed.

Make sure you got the correct location.

Choose the most convenient date and time for you.

I was not able to confirm my first reservation within 3 days. When I checked the status, it was cancelled so I had to set an appointment all over again.

Second, make sure you have the documents needed prior to your appointment. Print the Application Form and fill it out. Download and print the Medical Certificate Form for your preferred doctor to fill out. Yes, you can choose any licensed doctor! How convenient, right? What's even more convenient is that I used my health card so I didn't pay anything for my medical.

Third, show up on the day of your appointment with all the requirements. My appointment was at 9am but I arrived at 8:30am. Better early than sorry! The staff didn't ask me to wait until 9am and instead got all my requirements right away. Then she told me to wait for my name to be called and in just 5 minutes, I heard my name. The officer first confirmed that I am changing my address. Then he politely explained that my license might take longer than usual to be released because the Online Appointment System only caters to renewals without any revisions. I thought I will stay at LTO until lunch time but when I asked how long it will take, he said that it will be more than 30 minutes but not more than an hour. I had to ask again because I couldn't believe what he just said. Haha! I doubted him but then I was willing to wait so I went on with the procedure. He asked me to pay the amount of 752.63 (License Fee 585, Revision of Records 100, Comp Fee 67.63). I paid, had my signature and picture taken, and then they just told me to wait for the release. I got my license at 9:27am. Can you believe that?! Yes! The officer didn't just set but met the expectation! Take note, my License Card was released. Not a temporary license but the card itself. Kudos to LTO!
